Don’t repay evil for evil

Has anyone ever hurt your feelings or wronged you? I would probably be safe saying we all have in one way or another . It has taken me many years to see God’s way of handling these situations is much better than mine .

The key is to trust the Lord to handle those that has mistreated or harmed us . Tough I know, but once you have released this to the Lord , you have peace and freedom.

I use to be quick tempered and with that sarcasm was my way of repaying those that hurt me .Before Jesus entered my heart, I could hold on to anger for awhile , and where did that get me .. a life of misery . It grew and grew into a pit of hot flames fueled everytime I would think of that situation . This unsolved anger caused nothing but more issues and finally the all mighty BLOW UP !

When Jesus came into my life , I have sense learned how wrong I was and almost shamed by the way I had acted before . I saw how that trusting the Lord to to be my avenger is bringing freedom into my heart that I have peace and a calmness when faced with trying situations .

I learned it was harder to live angry than it was to let God ” handle it ” . One of the ways I handle the situations is to pray. Prayer works in all avenues of life so don’t feel you are ” bothering ” the Lord if someone hurt your feelings . For one it hurt , ask for help to handle it his way . Pray for the person that hurt you , trust the Lord to handle what needs to be . Don’t forget we have to be conscious of our actions also . Be accountable if we wronged that person .

We tend to forget God has the strength and love we need to get us through . That we need him in times as this . He is hand that will fight our battles .. Remember the Lord says ” Vengeance is mine ” …NOT ours ..

I keep tucked back in my heart the way of  Jesus . When I encounter a situation that liable to turn to anger I think of  Christ, he did not return insults when he was being called names , he did not return pain when beaten, he did not hate the men that nailed him to the cross, he prayed… he asked God to forgive them ..

FRIENDS, God tells us many times throughout his word , be slow to anger , do not repay evil for evil , don’t be overcome by evil but conquer with good . Pray for those that cruse us , ask for blessings upon that person .

Romans 12 : 17 – 21 ( NLT )

17 Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. 18 Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone. 19 Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say,

“I will take revenge;

I will pay them back,”
says the Lord.

20 Instead,
If your enemies are hungry, feed them.
If they are thirsty, give the something to drink. In doing this, you will heap
burning coals of shame on their heads.”
21 Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.

Trust him.. it can be tough ,think of the peace you will have.

So , next time talk yourself through, you can do this .. say .. I refuse to live in anger., I want peace in my heart, ask GOD for guidance and help . Believe it or not it does get easier each time you do this .

Experience the peace
